A few things
people ask first.

Is it safe to sign in with Twitch?

Sign-in happens on Twitch’s own login page — your password is never typed into Chattero. The token Twitch hands back is stored only in your device’s Keychain and is sent only to Twitch. Chattero has no server of its own and never sees it. Read the privacy policy.

Do I need an account?

No. Open any channel and read along without signing in. Sign in when you want to send a message.

Is it free?

Yes. The beta is free, and there are no ads. If that ever changes, you’ll hear it here first, not from a surprise paywall.

What does “beta” mean for me?

Chattero ships through Apple’s free TestFlight app, so you’ll install that first. Things can still change between builds. If something breaks, Settings › About › Report a bug prefills your app version and device so you only have to say what happened.

Is this an official Twitch or Chatterino app?

Neither. Chattero is an independent iOS app built by one person, inspired by the desktop Chatterino client. It’s not affiliated with Twitch. Everything it does, it does directly between your device and Twitch and the emote services.
